Our Faith
God
We believe in the one everlasting, eternal God: infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purpose; and possessing absolute, indivisible deity. This one true God has revealed Himself as Father, through His Son in redemption, and as the Holy Spirit dwelling in us.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, a divine revelation from God to man. We accept that “all scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). We believe that the holy Word of God is the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin; that He lived a sinless life, was crucified on Calvary for our sins, and bodily rose from the grave; and that He has been exalted to the throne of God where He is the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5). We believe that through His death and life we have personal salavation and power for victorious living.
Salvation
We believe that all men have sinned and stand in need of redemption (Romans 3:23), which is obtained through the new birth by faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Those repenting of sin and being born again become Children of God.
Baptism
We believe that following faith in Jesus Christ, new believers are commanded by the Word of God to be baptized in water as public evidence of that faith. Water baptism is an essential part of our Christian experience. It is another step in our journey from a life of sin to a life with Christ.
Holy Ghost
We believe that the Holy Ghost is active in the world today and that the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with His accompanying gifts is the privilege of all believers. “For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself” (Acts 2:39).
Church
We believe the church has been called out of the world to be a group of people who follow Jesus Christ. These Christ-followers, through the power of the Holy Ghost, will affect genuine spiritual change in their communities. As the body of Christ on earth, the church offers hope to humanity. The church is one group of people made up of many members, diverse in their gifts and callings of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:12).
Accountability
We believe in order to have spiritual authority we must be under spiritual authority and covering. Pastor Marvin Poole has accountability leaders in his life which include: Bishop T.F. Tenney, Prophet T.L. Smith and Len Poole. We are a network church with Healing Place Church of Baton Rouge under the leadership of Pastors Dino & DeLynn Rizzo. The local assembly is guided by the pastor and a member-appointed leadership team.
